Internet poker has become world famous lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, arcs back quite a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years numerous variants on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with twenty-one than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the bank instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no concealment or other types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up just before the croupier declares "No further wagers." At that moment, both you and the casino and of course all of the different gamblers are given five cards. After you have observed your hand and the dealer’s initial card, you must in turn make a call bet or give up. The call bet’s value is on same level to your original bet, indicating that the stakes will have doubled. Surrendering means that your ante goes directly to the house. After the wager is the face off. If the bank does not have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, plus a figure on par with the initial wager. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the bank’s hand. The bank pays money equal to your initial bet and set odds on your call wager. These expectations are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for 2 pairs
- 3-1 for three of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a four of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
