Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to achieve last game in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. Gus won a huge pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest bettors in the world. While wagering on web poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. Gus frequently competes in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen frequently buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I know Hansen is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400NL. Unless he is penniless, he has little or no reason to sit at the game with the minimum buy in.

Buying in for the minimum takes a majority of the expertise out of big stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be one of the greatest poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total amt.. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The best players in the world might just be players you have never heard of. Gus can be found betting on net poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in high stakes omaha/8 and texas hold’em. Gus has proven himself as a competition player. Can he use his skills in cash games?
