Caribbean Poker Rules and Tips

[ English ]

Poker has become world famous lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. Its popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years many variants on the first poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with chemin de fer than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the casino instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no concealment or other kinds of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up before the croupier broadcasting "No more bets." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course all of the different players acquire 5 cards each. Once you have looked at your hand and the bank’s first card, you have to either make a call bet or accede. The call wager’s value is on same level to your beginning ante, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Surrendering means that your ante goes instantly to the house. After the bet is the showdown. If the bank does not have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, with an amount in accordance with the initial bet. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The dealer pays money equal to your wager and controlled odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
