Newcomer Tactics for Double-Hand Poker

Double-hand Poker is a current game with old ancestry. Founded on the ancient Chinese tile game and the modern American version of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the east with the western in a great game for new gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player versus the house, unlike nearly all other poker games that players compete against other players. By competing against the dealer, new players don’t have to be concerned about other, more knowledgeable gamblers winning their money.

A further Pai Gow edge is the relatively slow game pace, beginners can take their time and scheme without having to make frenzied selections.

It is also much simpler to wager on for an extended time with only a little bit of money since, to lose, each of your hands needs to be under both of the houses hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the regular 52-card basic deck and a single joker. The player is dealt seven cards faces showing and the house is dealt 7 cards faces hidden.

A 5 card hand and one two card hand need to be made from the 7 cards, the five card hand must be higher than the two card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand values to be better than the dealer’s.
