Web High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only player to make it to the closing poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Gus won a large pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the best players in the world. While wagering on net poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He often plays in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus generally buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He waits for a good hand and then goes all in. I know Hansen is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy in.

Playing for the min takes most of the ability out of big stack poker. Gus is accepted to be one of the best players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total dollar value. I think television can alter our view of the real world at times. The greatest players anywhere in the world might just be players you have won’t have heard of before. Gus can be found participating in internet poker on Full Tilt. He usually competes in big stakes omaha high and hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his skills in money rounds?
