Internet High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to achieve final table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a big pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest enthusiasts anywhere in the world. While wagering on web poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He often plays in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen usually buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then goes all in. I believe Hansen is an amazing poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has no reason to sit at the game with the min buy in.

Playing for the minimum takes a majority of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is assumed to be 1 of the greatest poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total dollar value. I believe television can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The best players anywhere in the world could be guys you have never heard of. Gus can be found betting on web poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in high stakes Omaha and Holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he use his skills in cash rounds?
